What I love about teaching fifth grade at Holy Family School:
I absolutely love teaching 5th grade! Now, being able to teach at HFK school, I feel blessed to add to the spiritual community. It is fulfilling for me to share in the growth of the faith in our classroom and school. The community of friends and families here at Holy Family Kirkland have been so supportive and welcoming, and I hope to return the kindness by sharing my talents.

Why I became a teacher:
Growing up in a household of teachers – my dad taught chemistry at the Naval Academy and high school math, my step-mom taught high school English, and my sister teaches kindergarten – I knew I wanted to teach, too. Going off to college, I wanted to be a PE teacher, but ended up with business degrees and was an accountant for years. Knowing that I am a people person who loves to serve, I had the opportunity to switch careers in 2000. I love being in schools, the timing of the school year in life, and the community that comes from working with friends, families, and children. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the current students grow, having former students remember our time together fondly, and sharing with families so many wonderful memories.

Favorite Scripture Verse:
…But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15
